DLR Group
Elevate the human experience through design.
A Place for All
At DLR Group, we believe every individual should have the opportunity to feel safe, respected, and valued in their workplace. That not only happens through benefits and company culture, but also through the physical spaces that we occupy. As designers, we understand that space has significant impacts on our sense of belonging. Therefore, our approach to design puts equity at the core, delivering on our brand promise to elevate the human experience through design. You can learn more about our commitment to creating a more equitable and just society here.
Involvement
Every June, our studios come together to raise awareness, share stories, and advocate for a more inclusive professional environment. We participate in and host events in our communities. But we know the work is not limited to Pride Month. DLR Group works year-round to design for clients that share our values and continue moving the needle in our industry. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to in our communities.
About Us
DLR Group is an integrated design firm and is 100% employee-owned with all stock held within an employee stock ownership plan, or an ESOP. Employee-ownership has been part of our corporate structure since 1978.
We foster a culture that incentivizes collaboration. Driven by opportunity, we make decisions that impact not only our success but also our clients and partners. All of which are rooted in our core values of commitment, sharing, fun, creativity, environmental stewardship, integrity, ownership, and teamwork.
Project Feature: Reviving Harlem’s Disappearing Queer Spaces
“From the Savoy Ballroom to the Hotel Olga, demolished in 1959 and 2019 respectively, dozens of historical queer landmarks and safe spaces in Harlem have been lost over time. After 55 miles walked and almost 3,000 photos taken across the neighborhood, DLR Group Designer Abri Aiken debuted the app, “Queer Harlem Renaissance” at the Harlem Pride Festival in 2023, making these bastions of sexual self-expression visible once again.”
